Physical Activity Achiever of the Year

Winner: Gary Brennan

Gary Used to weigh 40 stone, he then took up cycling and has now lost 26 stone, what makes his achievement more remarkable is that he hasn't at anytime had surgery. It all started with a bike and Gary cycling to work which has led to this remarkable achievement. Gary now leads a healthy lifestyle and recently raised money for charity on the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride.

2nd Place: Max Wray

Max has Dravet Syndrome (rare form of epilepsy) but this has not prevented Max from joining in with a number of sporting activities. Trampoline and rebound sessions with Sport Development coaches have resulted in him becoming less ataxic and steadier on his feet. His attention span has increased and max has also developed his independence when attending holiday clubs at Oakdale and Hawthorns.

3rd Place: Liam Durey

Liam used to do very little activity prior to the last 12 month. During this time he has taken part in Trampolining and cycling which has led to creased co-ordination, mobility and posture. Liam has now inspired his younger brother to take a more active role in sport.
