School Sports Partnership Awards 2011

Introduction
Councillor Susan Quinn, the Civic Mayor of Tameside, presented the trophies and certificates at the Pride of Tameside School Sports Partnership Awards at Dukinfield Town Hall on 14 July.
The event recognised the dedicated and innovative practice of Tameside schools in PE, physical activity and sport. There were nine categories, and for most prizes were given at primary and secondary level.
Tameside Council's Assistant Executive Member for Sport and Leisure, Cllr Dawson Lane, said: "There is some excellent work taking place in our schools to promote sport and, of course, the youngsters are playing their part to the full.
"Each one of these awards was thoroughly deserved and I was delighted to be able to attend the event."
Emma Heap, Partnership Development Manager for New Charter Academy SSP said "This is a great way to end a very sporting year. It is so nice to recognise the hardworking teachers and schools who provide great opportunities for their pupils to participate in PE and school sport."
