Pride of Droylsden Awards 2012

Introduction
In 2012 a new scheme was launched in Droylsden based on the hugely successful borough-wide Pride awards aimed at showcasing worthy individuals or groups who go above and beyond the norm.
All applications were judged by an independent panel of six people who live in Droylsden or know the community well.
The scheme was the brainchild of Droylsden members Cllrs Kieran Quinn and Ged Cooney who wanted to highlight some of the excellent work individuals and groups do on a daily basis in and for Droylsden.
Altogether there were eleven award categories:
- Volunteer of the Year
- Community Safety Award
- Droylsden Business of the Year
- School Achievement Award
- Youth of Year
- Green Award
- Carer of the Year
- Sports Achievement of the Year
- Droylsden Club of the Year
- Person of the Year
- Special District Assembly Award
